In what was called the fight of the year, Kevin losses for the first time in nearly four years by judges decision. Though Kevin inflicted a great deal of damage with elbows and up kicks to the face the judges awarded the decision to his opponent for exhibiting control in the top position for most of the fight.
With this loss Kevin learned a great deal in many aspects ranging from how to improve as a fighter physically and mentally and how to impress and score points with the judges and to steal rounds. Although initially disappointed with the loss, he is now grateful for the experience.
In the end the fans witnessed a great fight, Kevin left the cage uninjured and gained a wealth of knowledge and experience. He will come back much stronger for it.

One June 1st worlds collide as Kevin Gittemeier (12-1) and Raphael Assuncao (11-1) do battle. Many questions will be answered as fans finally witness Raphael's extreme talent and athleticism clash with Kevin's cunning strategy and uncommon composure.
